Book Signing in My Home Town of Ellsworth

On Monday afternoon, I was in my home town of Ellsworth for another book signing.  It brought back many memories.  The event was held at the SSG-Holiday Station, which I established in 1971 as the third  in the SSG Corporation chain that now totals 40 stores.  Our manager Amanda had the place looking great, as she always does.

Many old friends and neighbors came by.  And once again, I was gratified that a few perfect strangers stopped to say hello and buy a book.  I hope it will be of help to them.

Maybe the resaon these three authors approached Annie's was that they figured most other authors wouldn't. The manager that bookstore was probably delighted to do something positive for authors in his/her community, and I'm sure that the local bookbuyers loved it, too.As a point of interest, I know the Annie's in my community is involved with the local public schools to the extent that they order copies of the books on the schools' reading lists. That's a win/win situation for everyone. Sure, parents could buy the books at one of the chain stores but it feels a whole lot better to buy the books from a local bookstore, such as it is.
